We are a group of teachers, MA students and MA graduates from the Department of English Language and Literature of the Faculty of Letters at the University of Timişoara, and we continue the creative writing project that began in 2001 in collaboration with British Council Romania.

It all started with a first series of fiction workshops held at the British Council Centre in Timişoara. Since then we have gradually developed in several directions. In 2003 a creative writing course was introduced as an option for undergraduates studying English at the University of Timişoara, and since 2004 there is a Creative Writing master’s degree here.

In the autumn of 2005, a partnership between the English Department and the School Inspectorate of Timiş County resulted in a series of workshops for high school students. The project, which is now in its fourth year, also involves a competition and has so far resulted in the publication of three collections of students’ short stories.

Since the spring of 2008 we have also begun to run a series of extra-curricular fiction workshops for undergraduates, and we have been involved in a number of other events (workshops, public readings, competitions)
